Soon-to-Be-Named Double IPA
Soon-to-Be-Named Double IPA
Spring Seasonal
1994 was a good year in beer history – the double India pale ale was created by revolutionary brewers on the West Coast. At the time, most beers were tame enough for everyone; these innovators proved that the status quo ought to be challenged. Our Soon-to-Be-Named DIPA Munich and Crystal malt robustness is complimented by a hop profile including Columbus, Warrior, and Simcoe hops – for the full hop experience of flavor, aroma, and bitterness. This is our salute to those who came before us, their courage to attempt something new, and their impact on the craft beer industry.
Origin: At first, being the hardheads we can be, we refused to even entertain the idea of an IPA, let alone a double IPA, being in our brew lineup. Then we started doing private and public events. Guess what the number one question was from most of those tastings. That’s right; we were asked numerous times if we were going to do an IPA/DIPA. Knowing being hardheaded isn’t what it’s cracked up to be all the time, we caved. You know, the whole ‘customer is always right’ thing. Damn glad we did. This beer took a second place crowd favorite selection home at the Gastonia Grizzlies’ Beer Fest in May 2012.
